Blooming is the title of this exhibition and it can be translated in various ways: to bloom, to blossom, and so on.
In reality, it is much more than that.
The plant kingdom is very unique from a symbolic and energetic point of view.
It embodies aspects of harmony and beauty, evident to all when observing flowers, which, like all plants, also have a remarkable sensitivity, even to the slightest touch, developing a special sense of love and wisdom in approaching them.

In her journey, she has always “felt” nature as part of herself, experiencing it with her body and studying its various aspects with her mind. She has used its elements with naturopathy, essences, and energies with Bach flowers.
Augusta Bariona presents her works, large collages, along with poems and thoughts that allow us to experience the plant kingdom, particularly through her flowers, not as mere spectators, but as true protagonists.

The jovial, cheerful, humorous people who love peace and are distressed by argument or quarrel, to avoid which they will agree to give up much. Though generally they have troubles and are tormented and restless and worried in mind or in body, they hide their cares behind their humour and jesting and are considered very good friends to know. They often take alcohol or drugs in excess, to stimulate themselves and help themselves bear their trials with cheerfulness.

It is defined as the “rose without thorns” by Europeans because it is a symbol of romantic love stories, but not only. It embodies love, affection, prosperity, honor, valor, nobility of spirit, and even peace.
In Eastern tradition, the meaning of peonies is related to immortality, but for us Westerners, their flowers are a symbol of transience because they are destined to wither in a short time. Despite the rapidity of their blooming, peonies are widely used in weddings: they symbolize love and affection, like a royal crown, they bring prosperity and nobility of mind.

Augusta Bariona’s works are unique and impactful, characterized by the use of paper as an expressive medium. Her paintings are created without the use of paint, but with skillfully colored tissues, used to create layers of color that gradually transform into beautiful flowers, evocative landscapes, and profound emotions. The tissue, like all paper, tends to change over time based on humidity and light conditions, just like flowers, thus achieving the perfect combination of subject and object..
