SALVADOR AULESTIA

"Apotist Genius"

"Apotist Genius"

Thanks to the collaboration with the Salvador Aulestia Archive, his masterpieces, paintings and sculptures, some of them previously unpublished, will be exhibited, giving the opportunity to get closer to the profound and special meaning of the concept of art that the artist had developed, through the introduction of the Manifesto of Apotelesmatic Art, or Apotheist, which he first published in 1965.
Apotheist genius then, because we are not talking about a 'simple' artist, but about a complex and multifaceted figure, who elevated art, writing and creativity to a universal value

SALVADOR AULESTIA

2024 will be the 30th anniversary of the death of SALVADOR AULESTIA, the great Spanish master, considered one of the leading artists of the 20th century.
Salvador Aulestia held a major exhibition in Milan at the Palazzo Reale in 1980, entitled 'Homage to Cataluna', in which a series of large canvases and sculptures were exhibited, some of which we will be able to admire exceptionally at the event dedicated to him to be held from October at Almach Art in Milan

The exhibition presents a reinterpretation of Salvador Aulestia's work by Luca Temolo Dall'Igna, curator and leading international expert on the artist, whom he knew and frequented for more than 20 years and for whom he curates the Archive, the only person responsible and authorised to authenticate the master's works

The idea is to bring the public closer to the concept of 'Apotheistic Art', which represents the shortest distance between idea and expression; it is eternal art by essence or the eternal essence of art and has as its axiom the following theoretical message: 'Marguerite contemplates the sea, the sun and an old man who contemplates the sea and the sun; but the sea, the sun and the old man, without Marguerite they have no reality'.

...The above leads us to speak of the "inventor of worlds "1 who was and is Salvador Aulestia, a creator of art and the arts, a member of a "cosmic system "2 in which man's spiritual development was a way, a possibility to escape from a repetitive life and mechanical work. Aulestia exhibits an artistic journey in which the speed of his work is reflected in the comparison between biography and autobiography, in a manner that can also be confusing precisely because of what was stated above. An artist of this level, who deals with so many aspects of art and society, who even writes a treatise on football played and does so in a country - Italy - where football is life, can almost arouse suspicion.

Works such as 'The Birth of Evinrude and the two Liliths', the 'Teraphim' sculptures and the sculpture furniture, will take us into a world where magic, alchemy and cosmic energy will also be physically perceptible.
